Speaking or Communicating, Hearing or Listening?

Effective Communication!? You are either good or want to learn to be good!

How many times have you asked for something and not got it? How many times have you disagreed with someone only to create frustration and disappointment for yourself? How many times have you hoped for it to be different whilst telling yourself it can never be?

We use language to understand our reality, to express it internally and externally in a tangible form. We use communication to create engagement, connection and collaboration.

And in every one of our interactions (inside and outside of self) someone is selling and someone is buying. To be a true influencer you will want to make sure you are controlling this process knowing when to buy and knowing when to sell. Buying only what fits for you and selling only what is a win for all concerned!

Using Language For Effective Communication And Influence Is An Incredibly Complex But A Learnable Process When You Have The Right System.

According to the second Edition of the Oxford English Dictionary, which was published in 1989. There are approximately 172,000 words that are in current use, along with around about 47,000 old obsolete words.

Now here is the interesting thing, over half of these words are nouns, the touchable, squeezable fabric of our reality. And about a  quarter of them are adjectives (because we like to give our nouns a bit of quality and meaning). Finally bringing up the rear, there’s only around a seventh of the words available, that are verbs (no wonder some people don’t get a lot done).

The average vocabulary across the population can vary wildly form as little as 10,000 words up to around 50,000 words. But thats not the whole story because it’s not just about the words!

The most important factor is the structure of sentences and statements. How these words are all put together with their implied and inferred meaning in the mind of the speaker and in the mind of the listener. This is where the result that you want from your communication is either won or lost.

The Possibilities For Effective Communication Are As Infinite As They Are For Mis-communication!

But there are secret rules, hidden in plain sight! Not the rules of learning english in an academic sense. But natural rules that have evolved unconsciously throughout the history of language. Rules that we don’t even know that we know! Even although we employ them every single day in all of our communication, usually more often than not in an unsupportive, limiting and at times debilitating way.

These rules are always employed to create negatives, though no one has ever taught you how to do it! They could just as easily be learnt and mastered to be used to great effect for influencing positives.

Because these natural linguistic structures exist, they are incredibly familiar and people are already highly responsive to them unconsciously.
If you were to learn these unconscious rules and then use them with volition in all of your communication, both listening and speaking you will be well positioned to become a master of influence.

We teach you all of these powerful rules for effective communication in our Advanced Linguistic Influencing Training and you can get all the detail you need right now, right here!
